Joy Troup was a principal performer with Walt Disney's World on Ice for 9 years and has performed for millions of people around the world. Joy has 7 years of cheerleading experience herself as well and over 18 years of dance training. She has choreographed for World and Olympic level performers both on and off the ice. Joy is the Western Regional Director for the United States All Star Federation (USASF) /International All Star Federation (IASF).
Coach Eric Anderson has been with ANHS pep squad for the past 7 years. He is a graduate of UC Riverside with a Health Science degree. Eric is a formally nationally ranked Gymnast and is a member of the Board of Advisors for USASF, All Star Magazine and American Cheerleader Magazine. He is also a certified National Level Judge and was the gymnastics team coach for the USA vs. China children’s team competition. Eric has been coaching cheerleading for 24 years.
Joy not only coaches at Aliso Niguel High School, but also at St. Mary's And All Angles Middle School and JSerra Catholic High School. She is also involved with an all- star program at Pacific Stars. Where some may see coaching a JV squad as an entry level position, Joy sees her job at Aliso Niguel High School as another opportunity to help cheerleaders build a foundation that they can grow upon. She feels privileged to have helped the girls truly become a "team" through their many successes including placing second place at USA Nationals last year. Joy is looking forward to her 2nd year here at ANHS.
Under Eric’s leadership, ANHS’s varsity squad has never placed below 2nd place at any National competitions. He was awarded "Coach of the Year 2000" by California Cheerleaders and his award winning groups receive top awards in regional and national competitions. Eric was recognized in 2007 American Cheerleader Magazine as one of the top choreographers in the country. Eric is a busy guy, he is the coach and choreographer for PACE Empire Collegiate All-Stars who took Silver Medal in the 2008 World competition. And that’s not all, Eric is also the coach for the Cal State Long Beach cheerleading squad. Under Coach Eric Anderson’s direction, CSULB has won USA National Collegiate championships in 2003, 2004,2006 and 2007. If you didn’t think Coach Eric is busy enough, well he spends his “extra” time being a judge at competitions. Eric is a judge for International, National and State level competitions.
Prior to ANHS, Eric has coached and choreographed for 17 years at Century High School for the JV and Varsity cheerleading squads. During which time, Century High School brought home 12 USA National Championships with 6 years of straight wins. He has been as far away as Costa Rica, Chili and China choreographing for the Universities for their National Championships. In 1999-2001, Eric choreographed the cheer team at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Under his direction, the team was nationally ranked in the top 10 in Division 1A category. In 1999 and 2000, he choreographed for the University of Nevada, Reno spirit team leading them to a national top 10 Division 1A ranking both years. In all, Eric has won over 30 national championships with several teams. He has been a judge from 2001-2006 for other highly known competitions such as the Miss Fitness America and ESPN Fitness America Series.
She became involved with these organizations early on as the first California Director for the National All Star Cheerleading Coaches Congress (NACCC). She has worked for the above organizations as they embarked on their quest to help make the sport become safer for our cheer athletes through coaches credentialing, athlete credentialing and gym certification. Joy is also the Associate Publisher and columnist for the USASF publication All-Star Cheer Magazine.
Anne’s true passion is in choreography. She choreographies all her teams competition routines and has received more then 18 “Innovative Choreography” awards for her work in many different styles of dance. This gift has allowed her to travel to many exciting places such as Japan, Chile`, Sweden, Mexico and Hawaii to share her passion.
Ann also enjoys creating music pieces for her teams. She has been editing music for 12 years. Anne creates competitive music mixes for hundreds of teams through the music editing company “Sounds Like That”. She says she creates pieces to "spice up the dance world!". Anne’s music compilations can be heard at competitions around the world! Her passion for dance will live on no matter how busy she gets. It is who she is and what she lives for. Dance 4 Life! Are Anne’s famous words.
